Ezra Gentle's creative journey began in the desert town of Keetmanshoop, Namibia, where he grew up as a third culture kid to missionary parents. His photographer dad and piano player musician mom nurtured his artistic spirit and global perspective from a young age, allowing him to travel across Africa and Europe, and learn Afrikaans, Spanish, and French. After his parents' divorce, Ezra moved back to the tiny town of Morris, Oklahoma, and started making short narrative and documentary projects for a local church. Pursuing his passion, he majored in Film and Media Studies and minored in Broadcast and Electronic Media at the University of Oklahoma, where he was chosen twice to represent the school in Clermont-Ferrand, France, as an ambassador for the Sister Cities Program.

During his time at the university, Ezra created over one hundred narrative short films, documentaries, promos, and videos, showcasing his talent and dedication. His works were even screened at sold-out halftime shows during football games, reaching audiences of 86,000 people. Notably, he was hired by Red Bull during his senior year to produce a short documentary about the Red Dirt musical genre in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Shortly after graduation, Ezra successfully launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his documentary project about Cowboys in Oklahoma's Panhandle fighting to preserve their land. The documentary became his first feature-length film, centering on the Apple family's trials and tribulations, including their special needs son's battle with cancer, the matriarch's move to a retirement home, and the threat of corporate land acquisition. The film was scored by his composer brother, Ezekiel, and completed in the summer of 2016.

Now based in Los Angeles, Ezra has established himself as a Director/Editor specializing in commercial and documentary content. He has collaborated with renowned brands like Nike, Toyota, T-Mobile, and others, as well as talented individuals like Gary Oldman, Snoop Dogg, and Method Mann. He has also explored Virtual Reality filmmaking, crafting a behind-the-scenes video for Elton John's retirement announcement in New York's famed Gotham Hall.

Drawing from his international upbringing and passion for storytelling, Ezra has embarked on projects that shed light on the struggles and triumphs of the harassed and helpless. His experiences growing up in Africa and the exposure to diverse cultures have shaped his unique approach to filmmaking, fueling his desire to share impactful stories with the world.

Ezra's journey continues as he plans to direct and produce his third feature film, driven by a script he personally wrote, capturing his middle school experiences as a shell-shocked third culture kid trying to adapt to trendy American life. With a repertoire of commercial successes and heartfelt documentaries, Ezra Gentle remains dedicated to his craft, seeking new opportunities to empower brands and artists with stories that inspire and resonate with audiences worldwide.
